Why this page exists between choosing a plan and paying for it

A review step costs a few seconds and prevents the single most common source of confusion at checkout — clicking the wrong plan, or a price that turns out to be in a currency you didn't expect.

Every paid action on FDVS — Plus, Pro, or a specific Prime Pick — lands here before anything is charged, on purpose. Jumping straight from a "Start Plus" button to a payment form skips the one step that actually matters most: confirming you're about to pay for what you think you're about to pay for, in the currency and amount you expect. A single extra screen costs nothing and prevents the single most common source of payment confusion — clicking the wrong plan, or not realizing which currency was about to be charged. It's a small addition to the flow with an outsized effect on how much anyone can trust what happens next.

Why Prime Pick goes through this page too

Prime Pick is priced per pick rather than as a subscription, but that doesn't make it any less of a real payment — it goes through the exact same review step as Plus and Pro, not a shortcut. Whether you're subscribing monthly or paying once for a specific fixture's written case, you see the same confirmation before anything is charged. Treating every payment path identically, regardless of how it's billed, is simpler to trust than having one flow that reviews and another that doesn't. An earlier version of the site sent Prime Pick straight to a browsing page instead of this review step, which was inconsistent — every paid action should look and behave the same way, and now it does.

What changes when you switch currency

Selecting a different currency updates the price shown for whichever plan tab is open — the plan and feature list stay exactly the same, only the displayed amount changes. As with the main pricing page, these conversions are illustrative until FDVS moves to real per-region billing; the amount shown is a reference figure, not a locked-in rate. Switching between USD and, say, Kenyan Shillings on this page doesn't change what you're buying, only how the price is expressed while local billing infrastructure is still being built. The nine currencies here — including Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Ghana and Cameroon alongside USD and NGN — reflect the markets FDVS is actively building toward supporting properly.

Why the plan is pre-selected when you arrive

If you clicked "Start Pro" somewhere on the site, this page opens with Pro already selected rather than making you pick again from scratch. You can still switch tabs and compare — Plus, Pro and Prime Pick are all one click away from each other here — but the starting point matches whatever you actually clicked, so you're not stuck re-finding the plan you already chose before you even got here. That pre-selection comes from the link you followed, not from any stored account preference, since there's no database behind it yet.

What happens after "Proceed to payment"

This page is the review step, not the payment form itself — continuing takes you to the actual payment page, where card or transfer details are collected. Nothing here stores payment information; this page's only job is making sure what you're about to pay for is exactly what you expect, before you get there. Splitting review and payment into two distinct steps is a deliberate choice, not an extra hurdle — it means the confirmation step never has to also handle sensitive payment details, and the payment step never has to also explain what you're buying.

Comparing plans one more time before committing

Because Plus, Pro and Prime Pick sit as tabs on the same page rather than three separate flows, switching between them here costs nothing — no lost progress, no re-entering anything. If seeing Pro's price next to Plus's feature list changes your mind at the last moment, that comparison is one click away rather than a full page navigation back to pricing and forward again. This page is meant to be the last honest checkpoint before payment, not a formality to click through as quickly as possible.

Why a review step matters more than it might seem

It's easy to treat a confirmation screen as friction to design around, but the alternative — sending every "Start Plus" or "Unlock Prime Pick" button straight to a payment form — trades a few seconds of review for a real risk of someone paying for the wrong thing. Currency confusion especially matters here: a price that looks correct in one currency can look alarmingly different if it was actually charged in another, and this page exists specifically so that mismatch gets caught before payment, not after.
